Give something back with an afternoon of hard graft (and tea and biscuits!)
1-2 miles, 1 hour walking time. 3 hours volunteering.
We’ll do a walk around the cemetery, then some guided volunteering landwork on the grounds of the cemetery, followed by tea and biscuits.
You need a ticket - book a place below.
Meeting time 12pm, to set off at 12:15pm.
Meeting point Meet at the main entrance to Arnos Vale Cemetery.
Terrain, difficultly and accessibility There are some hills. The walk will be on paved paths.
You need to be able to walk for 1 hour in total. The volunteering work will be physical land work - most likely cutting back brambles and overgrown areas, so you’ll need to be able to do this for a couple of hours.
Route No official route, but the walk will be led by one of our leaders.
Toilets There are toilets at the cemetery.
Cafe/pub Tea and biscuits provided after.
Lunch There won’t be a lunch stop specifically but bring a packed lunch you can have when you want to.
Parking Small amount of parking at the cemetery - get the bus or cycle if you can.
Public transport Buses 522, 1, 349 and X39 all go from the centre.

What to wear/bring Bring a snack and water. Wear comfortable shoes, clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and waterproofs if it’s raining.
