A walk up to Brean Down Fort followed by a beach picnic.

You do not need to book a place on this walk - just turn up at the meeting point and time.

Meeting time 11:00am and for an 11:15am start.

Meeting point Meet at National Trust Brean Down Car Park.

Terrain, difficultly and accessibility This is a relatively short walk, mostly on flat paths but there are 200 or so steep steps up to the path and back down again, and a steep ascent on the route. This is also a clifftop route, with steep drops.

The total walking time is 1 hour 30 mins. Not suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.

Toilets There are public toilets at the car park.

Cafe/pub There’s a cafe at the car park if you want to grab a coffee before/after.

Lunch We will have a picnic/lunch stop on the beach afterwards.

What to wear/bring Bring water and some lunch or snacks. Wear comfortable shoes, layers and waterproofs if it’s raining. We recommend long trousers for summer walks because of overgrown brambles and ticks.
