Trooper’s Hill and Conham River Park (evening walk)

Lush views at Trooper’s Hill and a stroll along the riverside to kick off our summer evening walks.

3 miles, 2 hours

You do not need to book a place on this walk - just turn up at the meeting point and time.

Meeting time 6pm and for a 6:15pm start.

Meeting point Meet outside the Pied Horse on Summerhill Road.

Terrain, difficultly and accessibility This is a relatively short walk, mostly on flat paths but there is a climb up Trooper’s Hill back down again.

The total walking time is 1 hour 30 mins. Not suitable for wheelchairs and buggies as there are steps and a steep, unpaved descent.

Toilets There are no public toilets on the route.

Cafe/pub No stop scheduled but there’s pubs nearby afterwards.

Parking On street parking near Summerhill Road.

Public transport Buses 41, 44 and 45 stop nearby from the Centre.

Dogs Dogs are welcome on a lead.

What to wear/bring Bring water and snacks. Wear comfortable shoes, layers and waterproofs if it’s raining. We recommend long trousers for summer walks because of overgrown brambles and ticks.
