A mostly gentle but lengthy ascent with one quite steep climb gifts you stunning panoramic views of Bristol and Bath. A few pubs to choose from on the way back, and an optional swim.

Difficulty Moderately challenging. There’s moderate ascent and one steep climb. 3 hours 45 walking time.

Toilets There are no public toilets en route, but there are cafes and pubs at the start and end you may be able to use.

Lunch Bring your own packed lunch.

Parking There’s on street parking in Saltford. Leave yourself enough time to find a spot.

Public transport You can get the X39 bus towards Bath Road from Bristol Bridge. Tyning Road stop.

Dogs Dogs are welcome, but must be on lead for stretch through sheep field and Bath Racecourse boundary.

Access info Some steps and a couple of gates, but mostly a long climb and descent. Not suitable for wheelchairs.
