We can’t get enough of our wonderful British coastline, so we’re off to the Gower in Wales!
Join us for a mostly catered 3 night weekender in the beautiful Gower. And this time we have a very special collaboration with Serving Bristol!
Led by and for LGBTQ+ folk.
When and where
6pm Thursday 14th Jan to 2pm Sunday 17th Jan at Hardingsdown Cottages.
We recommend taking the afternoon off work on Thursday, so you can join us from the start.

Low income and marginalised groups place: £80
If you are low income, trans, disabled or neurodivergent you can buy this ticket.
QPOC place: £80
If you are a queer person of colour you can buy this ticket.
Recommended price place: £120
Anyone can buy this ticket type. This is roughly what it costs to cover the cost of a place.
Supporter place: £160

Dogs: £20
We have space for 2 well-behaved dogs on the trip.
Cost includes 3 nights accommodation in a shared room, 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 1 dinner. We can take payments in installments.
If cost is a barrier to attending, please email queerhikingbristol@gmail.com. We may have some budget to further subsidise places.
Serving supper club
We're collaborating with Serving to run a special supper club as part of this weekender, with all the proceeds in support of gender-affirming care.
This will be middle-eastern sharing plates and a dessert. Suitable for vegetarians/vegans, most other dietary needs can also be catered for.
We only have limited spaces - indicate on the form if you'd like to attend.
-
We’ll be in the Bunkhouse and the Chaffhouse cottages. Shared rooms and bunkrooms with 2-5 people in.
Group size is 22, including leaders.
We have exclusive use of the Bunkhouse and the Chaffhouse.
All bathrooms are gender neutral.
-
It includes 3 x help yourself breakfasts, 3 x make your own packed lunch and 1 x hot dinner in the evening.
We can cater for vegan, veggie, GF and most other dietary requirements.
We will have 1 x dinner in the pub, which you’ll need extra money for.
And 1 evening will be the Serving supper club for some people and self-catered for the rest (we may do a pot luck or something!).
-
We’re working out the final details, but it will look something like the below. You can opt in/out of any activities.
Thursday evening: group dinner and welcome
Friday day: 8-10 mile hike or 4-6 mile hike
Friday evening: pub dinner
Saturday day: 8-10 mile hike or 4-6 mile hike, optional activities
Saturday evening: Serving supper club or pot luck dinner
Sunday day: 4ish mile hike, coffee and cake before heading back to Bristol
-
The Gower has amazing coastal paths, which can be up and down terrain. We’ll share the routes with attendees with elevations and as much info as we have.
We ask for access needs so we can chat to you about what to expect and work out if it might be best to sit any hikes or activities out.
Group trips mean we move at group pace. Some people are faster, some are slower. We’ll take regular breaks and it may mean if you’re a faster walker there’s a bit more waiting around.
-
We’ll do rideshares, which we sort a few weeks before.
-
We’re now taking a 20% non-refundable deposit from each booking, except for low income and QPOC places. That works out at:
Supporter: £30
Recommended: £24
If we can find someone to take your place, we can offer you a refund minus the deposit if you cancel within 3 weeks of the trip (we can usually find someone as we tend to have long waitlists). If we can’t replace you, we can’t offer a refund.
Places are non-transferable. If you need to cancel please email queerhikingbristol@gmail.com.
In the 3 weeks before the trip we cannot offer any refunds.
This policy is in place so we can continue to run our events at low cost for people.
How to sign up
Fill in the form below
Registration is open now until 10pm Sunday 6pm 25th October 2026
After it closes, you can use the form to sign up to the waitlist
Places are drawn randomly after registration closes
If you’re drawn, you'll get an email confirming the trip and payment details
If you do not get drawn, you'll also get an email to let you know and you’ll automatically go on the waitlist
We recommend adding queerhikingbristol@gmail.com to your safe senders list
There's an option to add the name of someone you'd like to attend with. We can't guarantee they'll also be picked, but there'll be a portion of the draw that will be for plus ones of people picked, so they'll go into the pool for that. They will still need to fill in the form themselves.
Please email any questions to queerhikingbristol@gmail.com.
We're not qualified or insured. By coming along you do so at your own risk.
