We’ll be in dorm accommodation at YHA Swanage. Dorms have 6, 4 or 2 beds.
Group size is 25, including leaders.
We do not exclusive use of the bunkhouse.
All bathrooms are gender neutral.
-
Catering is by YHA, so we’ll get your food orders in beforehand.
They can cater for vegan, veggie, GF and most other dietary requirements.
It includes 2 x hot and continental breakfast, 2 x packed lunch 2 x hot dinner in the evening.
-
We’re working out the final details, but it will look something like the below. You can opt in/out of any activities.
Friday evening: dinner and welcome
Saturday day: 8-10 mile hike or 4-6 mile hike
Saturday evening: dinner at the bunkhouse
Sunday: 4ish mile hike, coffee and cake before heading back to Bristol
-
Swanage has amazing coastal paths, which can be up and down terrain. We’ll share the routes with attendees with elevations and as much info as we have.
We ask for access needs so we can chat to you about what to expect and work out if it might be best to sit any hikes or activities out.
Group trips mean we move at group pace. Some people are faster, some are slower. We’ll take regular breaks and it may mean if you’re a faster walker there’s a bit more waiting around.
-
We’ll do rideshares, which we sort a few weeks before.
-
We’re now taking a 20% non-refundable deposit from each booking, except for low income and QPOC places. That works out at:
Supporter: £22
Recommended: £16
If we can find someone to take your place, we can offer you a refund minus the deposit if you cancel within 3 weeks of the trip (we can usually find someone as we tend to have long waitlists). If we can’t replace you, we can’t offer a refund.
Places are non-transferable. If you need to cancel please email queerhikingbristol@gmail.com.
In the 3 weeks before the trip we cannot offer any refunds.
This policy is in place so we can continue to run our events at low cost for people.
How to sign up
Fill in the form below
Registration opens on Monday 9am 13th July and closes 10pm Thursday 16th July 2025
After it closes, you can use the form to sign up to the waitlist
Places are drawn randomly after registration closes
If you’re drawn, you'll get an email confirming the trip and payment details
If you do not get drawn, you'll also get an email to let you know and you’ll automatically go on the waitlist
We recommend adding queerhikingbristol@gmail.com to your safe senders list
There's an option to add the name of someone you'd like to attend with. We can't guarantee they'll also be picked, but there'll be a portion of the draw that will be for plus ones of people picked, so they'll go into the pool for that. They will still need to fill in the form themselves.
Please email any questions to queerhikingbristol@gmail.com.
We're not qualified or insured. By coming along you do so at your own risk.
