A long ol’ stomp you can get to by public transport! Woods, fields and lovely things.

You do not need to book a place on this walk - just turn up at the meeting point and time.
Meeting time 10:15am and for a 10:30am start.
Meeting point Meet outside The George Inn, Abbots Leigh.
Terrain, difficultly and accessibility This is a long walk, with a prolonged, steep descent then some undulating terrain and a fairly steep ascent towards the end. The terrain is mixed along country paths, through woodlands and fields and on pavement. It might be very muddy, including the descent, if it’s been raining.
The total walking time is 4.5 hours. Not suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.

Toilets There are no public toilets on the route, but there may be pubs en route which may let you use the toilets with a purchase.
Cafe/pub The George Inn in Abotts Leigh if you fancy a drink after.
Lunch Bring your own packed lunch.
Parking There’s some free parking in the small car park opposite the George Inn on Church Road, and on Manor Road. Please allow time to find a spot and be mindful of local residents.
Public transport Get the X4 bus from Anchor Road in town at 9.45am.

What to wear/bring Bring water and some lunch and snacks. Wear comfortable shoes, layers and waterproofs if it’s raining. We recommend long trousers for summer walks because of overgrown brambles and ticks.
