A Beyond Bristol walk along the canal, with great views and great birds!

You do not need to book a place on this walk - just turn up at the meeting point and time.

Meeting time 10:30am and for a 10:45am start.

Meeting point Meet outside St John’s Church in Slimbridge.

Terrain, difficultly and accessibilityThe walk is very flat, and the terrain is mostly on well-defined tracks and paths. It is fairly easy as longer walks go in that respect.

The total walking time is 3 hours. Not suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.

Toilets There are no public toilets on the route, but there is a cafe about halfway which may let you use the toilets with a purchase.

Cafe/pub Ley Bistro halfway round. We will stop nearby for the lunch stop.

Lunch Bring your own packed lunch.

ParkingOn street parking in Slimbridge. Please allow time to find a spot and be mindful of local residents.

Public transport Not really possible for this walk - find a lift in the rideshare Whatsapp.

What to wear/bring Bring water and some lunch or snacks. Wear comfortable shoes, layers and waterproofs if it’s raining. We recommend long trousers for summer walks because of overgrown brambles and ticks.
