Cafe/pub The Salthouse bar at the end of the walk, or chips from the stand by the marine lake. There’s also a coffee hut by the car park.
Lunch We will not have a lunch stop on this walk, as we’ll be finished by 1pm. Bring snacks.
Sauna and swim Suvi saunas has a sauna by the Marine Lake. You can book on for a 2pm session onwards if you want to (£12.50).
You can also take a cold dip in the lake - one of our leaders will be doing this, but cold water swimming is no joke and you should only do this if you have experience and the right swimwear. Queer Hiking Bristol will not be guiding a swim and you swim at your own risk.
Parking Salthouse Fields Car Park, £2.60 for 4 hours or £4 all day.
Public transport X6 or X9 buses from Bristol City Centre, or find a ride in the rideshare Whatsapp group.
Leaders Liz and Kaylii.
Dogs Dogs are welcome.
Access info The second half of the walk is paved and suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. The first part’s terrain is not suitable, with loose gravel, dirt/grass paths and a steep part, but may be accessible to those with walking sticks. If you use a wheelchair and would like to join for the second part of the walk please email queerhikingbristol@gmail.com and we can arrange a meeting place and time.
This is an out and back route, so if you have a chronic fatigue or pain condition you can start the walk with us and turn back at any point to easily self-guide back to the car park.
